Russian Ag Min raises ‘18–19 grain export forecast to 42 mln tns
MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry has raised Russia’s grain export forecast for the 2018–2019 agricultural year to 42 million tonnes from 39 million tonnes, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Deputy Minister Oksana Lut said, as cited in the statement, that the gross harvest of grain amounted to 112.8 million tonnes in 2018.
“We also asked the regions to report their current balances and basing on the new figures the Agriculture Ministry has raised its grain export forecast for the current agricultural year to 42 million tonnes,” Lut said.
Russia’s grain exports in the previous agricultural year that started on July 1, 2017 and ended on June 30, 2018 amounted to 52.422 million tonnes, including 40.449 million tonnes of wheat.
